Fliping and Flopping at Gymnastics

Hi Max and Mrs Cutler's class,

I wanted to tell you about another exciting adventure I had last week. I attended Libertyville Gymnastics Academy with Morgan. Morgan is a level 7 gymnast and can do some pretty amazing stunts. She and her gymnast friends were spotting me on some tricks on the bars, beam and floor. I discovered that I'm really great at the splits! Playing in the foam pit with Morgan was really fun. I also liked climbing the rope--but my muscles were sure sore afterward!

I'm having a super fun vacation. I hope everyone back home is doing well. Say hi to the everyone in Mrs Cutler's class for me.

Love,
Stanley

Copeland Manor School with Morgan and Friends

Hi Max & Mrs Cutler's Class,

I'm having such a great time in the Libertyville area, I decided to start my own blog to keep you up to date on all my adventures. Last week I went to school with Morgan at Copeland Manor School in Libertyville, IL. You can see their website at www.d70.k12.il.us/schoolsites/?school_id=3.

I miss Howard R. Driggs, but it is fun to meet new friends at a different school too. Did you know that in Illinois it gets so cold in the winter that all the kids wear snowpants, coats, hats, gloves, and boots everytime they go out on the playground...and even when they get ready to get on the bus in the morning. But the kids don't mind the cold too much, they love playing outside, even when it is really cold. Thank goodness winter was over when I arrived. I had a lot of fun playing in the Spring weather on the playground. I got to climb a tree, slide down the slide, sit on a park bench, play on the monkey bars, and they even taught me to hula hoop with my own special "Stanley" sized hula-hoop.

Morgan and her friends are really nice. I've had a lot of fun getting to know them. Also, the teachers are nice too. At Copeland the 5th graders get lockers and they get to switch classes for math, science, and social studies. I got to meet all of Morgan's teachers. I even got stuck in Morgan's locker.

Copeland is a little different than Howard R Driggs because the school only goes up to 5th grade. For sixth grade the students to go Middle School. So, this is Morgan's last year at Copeland.
